We are pleased to launch our first edition of the Zöllner-Roche Composers Lab with kind support of Deutscher Musikrat und NEUSTART KULTUR.
Until June 30 composition students (or composers recently graduated) can submit their applications and we will select 3 of them for commissions. Further guidelines can be found on our duo website
Composing for the Accordion
I am delighted to read Richard Baker´ s review of “Composing for the Accordion” in TEMPO (Cambridge University Press). Thank you! This “excellent volume” is still available at Are Verlag (Print 26,- Ebook 12,-) and “will deservedly become a favoured English-language resource”
SWR2 #kulturfrauen
I feel very honoured to be part of SWR2 radio´ s series about women in culture. Here is a little portrait (in German) about my work as an artist and as curator of Lauschvisite.

Review about the concert
Goethe Institut Hanoi: Reconnect
In July 2021 I was invited by Goethe Institute Hanoi to take part in a virtual project with musicians from Vietnam, Germany and France. I composed an “eatable score” for Đàn bầu, accordion and electronics for the occasion. You can follow the project here:
book release: Composing for the Accordion
In May 2021 I have published my new book “Composing for the Accordion” with ARE-Verlag in Cologne. I am very excited to be able to share my experiences from many years of close collaboration with composers in this way.
The bilingual release contains practical information about the accordion and its playing techniques, examples of notation and listening tipps.
Katrin Bethge made the very unique drawing for the cover.
Print edition (26,-Euro) and E-Book (12,-) can be ordered directly from the publisher.
Kohmann/Zöllner/Weiß
We were invited to contribute a short clip to a TV broadcast about artists in our region SWR#zusammenhalten für die Kultur
Goethe Institute: Virtual Partner Residency
With kind support of Goethe Institute s “Virtual Partner Residencies” Mexican composer Georgina Derbez and myself have been working on a new composition for solo accordion. TRANSIT was virtually premiered for SWR radio #zusammenspielen (broadcast in the fall) and live performances are scheduled as soon as circumstances allow. The piece is inspired by the life and work of German author Anna Seghers who spent her exile years in Mexico in the 1940s and always felt a strong connection between those two cultures. I am very grateful for this opportunity to work closely with Georgina on a new work despite the distance.
Virtual Festival in Mexico
I was honoured to be virtual guest artist at Festival Expresiones Contemporáneas in Mexico City in April and impressed by the enourmous energy and professionalism of a team of young people who make the music go on in difficult times.
Together with Manuel Ramos Negrete (Mexico), Lorenzo Gomez Oviedo (Argentina) and Vanessa Massera (Canada) I created a couple of pieces that were premiered in the video and can be watched here, alongside pieces by Carolina Noguera Palau and Sarah Nemtov.
Even though I cannot travel at the moment it is important to keep my artistic work with colleagues in Latin America alive, so I was grateful for this opportunity.
Windspiel at SWR radio
In November 2020 recorder player Verena Wüsthoff and I performed a concert without audience at Festival Neue Musik Rockenhausen. The concert was recorded by SWR2 radio and braodcasted in the show JETZTMUSIK on March 31. Here is the link.
We played music by Toshio Hosokawa, Dani Howard, Raphaël Languillat, Simon Voseček, Sarah Nemtsov and Georgina Derbez.
